Hiring a contractor for anything these days is a hit-or-miss affair. Finding Irvin, by contrast, was an out-of-the-park homerun. He is highly skilled, a good listener, and conducts his business with integrity which is rare these days. I had been struggling to complete a backyard deck for over two months. I'm handy, but not necessarily skilled when it comes to the tricks of the trade, and the project became overwhelming. Irvin responded immediately to my quote request, showed up to look at the job in the morning (on a holiday no less), then stayed until 7 pm to complete the project. At one point three-quarters the way through, he discovered my prior work was causing the boards to deflect into a bow shape. Without complaint, he removed and re-did my faulty work which cost him another couple hours, but when all was said and done, he never asked for a penny more than his original quote. Going forward, I will only hire Irvin whenever I need carpentry work done on my properties.
